Round Silicone Gel Implants, Dual Plane Placement (Partly ‘Under the Breast’ and Partly ‘Under the Muscle’)

Dual Plane Placement is preferred in cases where there is mild sagging of the breasts.  Although the same degree of ‘lift’, if not more, could be achieved by placing the implant entirely ‘in front of the muscle’, the advantage of this technique is that positioning the upper half of the implant ‘under the muscle’ helps to hide the obvious ‘step’ at the top of the implant which could otherwise occur if the implant were to be placed entirely ‘in front of the muscle’ in a woman with thin tissue coverage.

Trans-Axillary Technique (via the Armpit)

The major advantage of this technique is the avoidance of any tell-tale scar anywhere on, under or around the breast making it a very worthwhile option for those who could feel self-conscious about a scar under the breast or for those with a tendency to pigmented scars – a risk with brown or Asian skin.  Although any size fillable Saline implant can be inserted via this route, the small armpit incision only permits Round Silicone Implants up to a certain size to be inserted. Please note that Silicone ‘Tear Drop’ and Polyurethane Foam-Covered Silicone Implants cannot be inserted via this route.
